Service Description

Saturday, 18th June Workshop 2.00-3.30 pm BOOK ON Colours Website: This is a monthly women’s wellness workshop for midlife women and beyond at Colours Cafe & Wellbeing Centre, Truro. These mini-workshops last for 1-½ hours, and aim to actively teach wonderful life-changing and reassuring information for women to gradually infuse into their everyday lives and create a new mindset for midlife and beyond. The aim of these workshops is to give support to women, build awareness of common issues in this life phase, help prevent and navigate with clarity, and positively influence the ageing process. Each workshop includes movement that is mobilising and nourishing, helping you to understand how to correct muscular imbalances for overall function. This includes exercises from methods such as Pilates, myofascial release work, using small equipment, infused with relevant coaching topics for peri- post-menopausal women. Taking control of our health with a strong focus on prevention is more important than ever. Each workshop will have structure and content which will gradually build the holistic perspective - how no system works alone and everything is connected. Content for Saturday 21st May, 2.00pm: Foot & Ankle mobilisation using simple equipment. Learn key influences of keeping the feet and ankles mobile with a select number of exercises using small equipment. Pelvic Floor Integrity. Looking at the overall groundwork for a well-functioning pelvic floor. This is important as it is often a barrier to all exercise for many women. Self-Care Start your self-care rituals to positively influence hormone balance. Looking at the influence of stress on hormone balance. Gut Health Introducing the role of gut health in this life phase. Creative/Spiritual Changing the outlook of your midlife and beyond. Rest Techniques for mental wellbeing. Screening: Completing a screening form will be necessary before attendance, done via form online or email.
